Bridesmaid Dress Alterations
Six dresses, six different bodies, one order placed to whichever size was closest. Getting a bridal party to look deliberate rather than approximate is a logistics problem as much as a sewing one, and Nina schedules it that way.

Fitting a whole party
Bridesmaid dresses are ordered from a size chart, usually to the largest measurement on each person, which means almost every dress arrives needing to come in somewhere. The goal is not just that each dress fits. It is that the party reads as a set when they stand together.
- Group fittings scheduled back to back so nobody makes two trips
- Hem lengths kept visually consistent across different heights and heel choices
- Bust and bodice adjustments for genuinely different body shapes in the same style
- Strap, back and shoulder adjustments
- Maternity-conscious fitting, with room built in where a due date is close
- Scheduling around out-of-town bridesmaids who arrive days before the wedding
Timing
Aim to have bridesmaid dresses fitted around six to eight weeks before the wedding, with the bride, but with enough room that a second round of adjustments is not a crisis. Book the group appointment as soon as the dresses arrive.
